From a spreadsheet to a seating chart

  1. 1Start from the list you already have

Upload an Excel or CSV file and see exactly what will be added before anything changes. Working in Google Sheets or Numbers? Paste the rows straight in.

  2. 2Group them into invitations

The Patels get one invitation, not four. Everyone is on exactly one, so your counts never double up, and a plus-one is a named person who can reply for themselves.

  3. 3Ask guests for their own addresses

Share one link and guests fill in their name, email, phone and mailing address themselves. It never shows them your guest list.

  4. 4Share it by text or email

I Do writes the message and opens it in your own email or texts. Group emails go out on bcc; texts go one household at a time. You review and send.

  5. 5Watch the replies land

Guests reply on your website and the answers appear beside their names, with meal choices, dietary notes and anything else you asked.

  6. 6Sit everyone down

Drag guests onto tables, turn the tables to match the room, and see at a glance who still has nowhere to sit.

Share your website, and let the replies come back

I Do writes the message with your website link. It opens in your own email or texts, where you read it, change anything you want, and send it. Emailing a group puts everyone on bcc, so nobody sees the other addresses. Texting goes one household at a time.

Mark each invitation Save-the-date sent or Invitation sent as you go, so the list always shows who is still waiting. Replies come back through your website and land beside each guest’s name. I Do does not send the message for you, so it cannot report delivery or opens.

Everything in one view

Every guest is no reply, attending, declined, worked out from what they actually said rather than kept in a second column you have to remember to update.

  • Who has replied, who has not, and who is still waiting on an invitation
  • Meal choices, dietary notes and anything else you chose to ask
  • Which events each guest is coming to across the weekend
  • Who still has nowhere to sit

Need it elsewhere? Export everyone from RSVPs gives you the full spreadsheet, every answer included.

Or just say it. Tell Abigail “Dana’s phone number changed” or “put these five on Osvaldo’s side”, and she makes the edit and shows you what she did.

Questions couples ask us

Does I Do email our guests for us?
No. I Do writes the message and opens it in your own email or texts, already addressed. You review it and send it yourself. Automated email from I Do goes to you, never to your guests.
Can we see if guests opened the message?
No. The message is sent from your own email or phone, so I Do never handles it and has no delivery or open information to show you. What you can see is who has replied on your website.
How do we track what has gone out?
You mark it. Each invitation is Not sent, Save-the-date sent, Invitation sent, so the list always reflects what you have actually posted or sent.
Can we import from Google Sheets?
Not as a direct connection. Export it as CSV and upload that, or paste the rows in. Excel files upload directly.
Is there a limit on guests?
No.
Can we get it all back out as a spreadsheet?
Yes. Export everyone from RSVPs gives you the full list with every answer, ready for the caterer or the venue.
